The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico wraps our community up in love and care. Our hearts are heavy with the weight of this devastating tragedy, and we extend our deepest sympathies to every individual and family impacted.
In response to the heartbreaking tragedy, the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, in partnership with the City of Las Cruces and Doña Ana County, has activated the Together Las Cruces Crisis Action Fund. This fund serves as a vital resource, enabling our community to unite and offer immediate support during times of tragedy and devastation. Currently, this fund is actively dedicated to providing direct assistance to the families and victims profoundly impacted by the mass shooting that occurred on March 21, 2025 at Young Park.
The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico is working hand-in-hand with all organizations supporting the Family Assistance and Resource Center. We are collaborating closely with the Las Cruces Police Department, the Doña Ana County Office of Emergency Management, and the New Mexico Crime Victims Reparations Commission to ensure comprehensive and coordinated support for all those impacted. As a critical priority, we are committed to alleviating the financial burden of funeral costs for families navigating the grief of losing their loved ones. We will work with all supporting entities to address gaps in funding in order to aid all victims of this tragedy.
100% of the funds raised through the Together Las Cruces Crisis Action Fund will be directed towards supporting these critical efforts.
This is a time of profound grief for these individuals and families, and we are here to support them as they are ready to connect with these support services. Individuals and families who have been impacted are encouraged to go to the Family Assistance and Resource Center or contact dispatch at 575-526-0795 and ask for the Victims Assistance Program. The Family Assistance and Resource Center will collect information on all who were impacted so that we can provide support.
