Doña Ana County Sheriff Kim Stewart has announced a series of six public meetings as part of the ‘Hits & Misses’ Community Listening Tour, with one scheduled for Monday night in Las Cruces.

The initiative aims to gather feedback from residents on the performance of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office since Stewart’s election in 2018.
The meetings will provide a platform for community members to discuss what has worked well, areas for improvement, and future priorities.
Sheriff Stewart emphasized the importance of community input, stating, “Community input is essential to understanding how we serve our residents.”
She added that this process is intended to enhance transparency, accountability, and continuity.
The meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend the session most convenient for them.
The meetings are scheduled for:
– Tuesday, Jan. 20, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Placitas Community Center, 241 Monticello St., Hatch, NM
– Thursday, Jan. 22, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Vado/Del Cerro Community Center, 180 La Fe Ave., Mesquite, NM
– Saturday, Jan. 24, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Delores Wright Community Center, 400 E. Lisa Dr., Chaparral, NM
– Monday, Jan. 26, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Doña Ana County Commission Chambers, 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, NM
Public comments from these meetings will be documented and compiled into a summary for public access and provided to the incoming sheriff.
