County Assessor’s Office sent Valuation Notices and sets up outreach locations

The County Assessor’s Office sent out a Notice of Value by post mail to taxable property owners Monday, April 1.

These notices inform property owners of the total assessed and taxable values of their property. It lists exemptions applied and the total used to calculate 2024 tax bills. Tax bills will be sent to property owners in November.

Through May 1, property owners may protest the value in the notices. Protests must be filed in writing to:

Taxpayers may also apply for additional exemptions, which include the following:

  • Disagree with the valuation
  • Improvements or changes made are valued at more than $10,000
  • First time property is declared property as agricultural
  • Head of family exemption
  • Veteran exemption
