Las Cruces police continue to investigate what appears to be a murder-suicide that occurred Tuesday at a home in a Sonoma Ranch neighborhood.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Las Cruces police and fire were dispatched to the report of two gunshot victims inside a home on the 2200 block of Sun Chaser Place in Sonoma Ranch. Police arrived and learned that a man and woman were deceased inside the home.
The deceased were identified as 69-year-old Raymond Gonzales and his wife, 57-year-old Michelle Gonzales. Both appear to have suffered gunshot wounds.
The final determination on the cause of their deaths will be made by the New Mexico medical investigator’s office.
