Police Investigate Allegations of Fentanyl-Laced Drink

Las Cruces police detectives are investigating allegations of a fentanyl-laced drink that allegedly caused a 20-year-old man to be hospitalized on Tuesday.

About 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, police received a report that a 20-year-old Las Cruces man became sick after consuming a drink allegedly delivered from a local fast-food restaurant. The man was conscious and able to walk on his own when he was transported to a local hospital.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Detectives are investigating the claims and will follow all necessary leads to determine the facts.

Las Cruces police have seen various claims and accounts on social media and ask users to refrain from speculating on this incident. Unconfirmed reports could damage reputations, cause unnecessary fear and interfere with the investigative process.
