A third young man has been arrested for his involvement in the Sept. 4 fatal shooting at Salopek Park.
Esteban Munoz, 19, was arrested Wednesday by Las Cruces police and is charged with felony counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.
Munoz joins two 18-year-olds, Elijah Sambrano and Apolinar Rosales, who have been arrested and charged for their roles in the September shooting.
Sambrano is charged with felony counts of aggravated battery that may cause death or bodily harm and tampering with evidence. Rosales is charged with felony counts of voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence, and a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing.
The shooting took place shortly before 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, near Salopek Park on the 400 block of Salopek Boulevard. Julia Clark, 19, was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso where she died on Sept. 6.
A 19-year-old man was also shot during the incident. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
