Tips Sought to Identify Shooting Suspect

Las Cruces, New Mexico – Shooting suspect at large and the Las Cruces Police Department needs your assistance in identifying the person responsible for the shooting of a 52-year-old man.

The Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces-Doña Ana County is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the person or persons responsible for the shooting.

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 2:00 pm, police officers responded to the 900 block of Melendres on a vehicular crash.  The vehicle had gone through multiple yards before coming to a stop as the driver remained trapped inside the vehicle.  

Officers arrived at the scene and found that the driver had been shot prior to the crash.  
Detectives believe that an unknown make or model sedan (photo attached), 4 doors, silver or gray in color was involved in the shooting.  

Detectives are asking if anyone has information on this case to contact police at (575) 526-0795.
Crime Stoppers allows tips to be provided anonymously.

Anyone with information that can help in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.
