Second West Texas Show Added for George Strait

Good news for George Strait fans hoping to catch his West Texas Stadium concert next spring. He’s adding another show at his stadium tour back to the Lone Star State, where it all began.

“By overwhelming demand, George Strait is adding a second night in Lubbock, TX on Friday, April 24,” the X post says.

Zach Top and Dylan Gossett will be the opening acts for Friday’s concert at Jones AT&T Stadium, home of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, in Lubbock.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, fellow Texans Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook will open for Strait.

Presale tickets for both shows went on sale today at 10 a.m. Regular tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 21.

In June 2024, of course, Strait thrilled a sold-out crowd with the first-ever concert at Kyle Field, the home of the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station. Strait announced that more than 110,905 people were in attendance. At the time, it was a new record for the most-attended ticketed concert ever in the United States, but fellow country star Zach Bryan eclipsed the mark a few weeks ago in Michigan.

Since the Kyle Field show, Strait has sold out stadiums this summer in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Foxborough, Massachusetts and Inglewood, California. The only 2026 concert listed on his website as of Thursday is a May 2 show with Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores at Clemson Memorial Stadium in South Carolina.

His only Texas performance this year was an intimate benefit in Boerne in July that raised $6.25 million for Hill Country flood victims.

Strait also made headlines when President Donald Trump announced he would be one of this year’s Kennedy Center honorees, along with Sylvester Stallone, KISS, singer Gloria Gaynor and actor-singer Michael Crawford. This year’s Kennedy Center Honors ceremony will take place on Dec. 7 and will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
